Reunification-boogie GDR 1990 From 20th to 23rd of September in 1990 there was a German-reunification-boogie for skydivers in Oppin - in this time still GDR. The artist Staudinger took part with camera and made a documentation about this special event. We get information about how skydiving in GDR was organized and what kind of plans there were for future. Then we see a german-german tandem-jump: the tandem-master from West-Germany, the female 63-year-old tandem-jumper from East-Germany. Finally some bungy-jumping in times of the change in Berlin. We are sorry for the bad quality of the material and for no english translation. P.S.: at the accident of the canopy-formation in Oppin fortunately nobody was harmed. |

Normannenstreet Berlin 1990 On January 15th of 1990 demonstrators in Berlin crashed the Stasi headquater of the GDR Ministry for State Security (MfS) in Normannenstreet and took it over. For the moment. But after the German Government wanted to decide giving the documents of the MfS to the central federal archive - and by this not available for the citizens - there again was loud protest. On 4th of September 1990 the Stasi headquater again was crashed by 20 courageous people. There was a solemn vigil, some went to hunger strike. 24 days later the action was finished with success. In the riots of this time the artist went to this place to catch the atmosphere. Camera: Klaus Merl (✝). |

12by15 - Fashion meets art "Art could be attractive - we make it wearable" - is the motto of 12by15. His founder, Thomas Smetana, is an international recognized photographer from Austria and his idea with the project was to snatch the art from museums & present it by t-shirt in public space. Thereby there is the opportunity for the carrier of the t-shirt to join the discourse about sociopolitical questions, stimulate the discussion and support it. Staudinger is one of a lot of artists who opened himself to this idea and took part in it. Here his statement about his joining the project (sorry, no english version - but something in EN on website of 12by15). |
